How to make your large group lessons more engaging and learner-centred

PAra português, clique aqui.

One of the hardest things about teaching large groups online is to engage students and get them all to communicate. In this quick tutorial, I talk a little bit about three ways to do it using forms. If you haven’t watched the tutorial

Here are the samples I mention in the video:

Turning PDF worksheets into forms

Worksheet PDF
Microsoft forms version of it

Why Forms?

I know when students are finished and I get metrics on the responses. I know what to clarify at feedback and who made mistakes

Surveying your students’ opinion

Pre-discussion task about what is appropriate in a presentation

Why forms?

It allows me to see their opinion and propose a discussion.

Peer review

A form I have used to get students to evaluate each other’s presentations.

Why forms?
It gives students who are watching a presentation a task that goes beyond just passively participating in the lesson
